What Are The Best Strollers For An Active Mom?
I 'm not due for another four months but i want to save up enough for a good stroller.i 'm doing my research but i 'm a new mom & want some suggestions from maybe fellow nyer moms. i want something that is not too pricy.i live in nyc & use the subway/ public transportation everywhere i go.so i need something i can carry when i use stairs. not all stations have elevators/ escalators.i need a car seat to come with it because we often travel to nj & stuff.i would also like to be able to look at my baby & something i can possibly use when it 's older.idk the gender so i prefer black but red is good too.thanks in advance. Buying First Stroller/car Seat/travel System?
So my first baby is due in may, and i figured it 's time for me to get things started and buy our first car seat, stroller, travel system.right now the brands i 'm looking at (that also fit my budget and seem to be pretty popular) are graco, chicco and safety 1st.so here are my questions:1) i noticed there are some car seats that are meant to hold infants up to 22 lbs and others up to 30 and even 35 lbs. is there really a benefit to sticking to a bigger or smaller car seat, ie. the bigger car seat seems like it allows more future-proofing as the baby grows, but does the smaller one (which will have to be replaced sooner) fit infants better?2) i was building my own travel system as it seems the largest amount of complaints for current travel systems are that they are quite bulky/ heavy. so i was thinking about getting one of the lightweight infant strollers and then getting a different stroller when the infant outgrows that stroller. however, i noticed the infant strollers tend not to have canopies, also do not have nice features like shocks? are those really important? anyway, this is my first baby. my budget is fair, i can probably spend about $300-$400 on the travel system/ stroller/ car seat combo. what would you recommend? just getting a travel system (or building one), should i bother with the lightweight infant car seat stroller?thanks (Read answers)

Which Stroller Do I Choose, Orbit Helix Or Icandy Peach?

Your Favorite Double Umbrella Stroller?
We had 2, both are broken! we got them used and cheap, and i am pretty rough with them. we have to go over exposed roots, rocks, hills and valleys to get from my front door to my car. one of our strollers was a macclaren, which i didn 't much care for (except i liked the handle and wheel positions which made it less awkward to push). the other was a jeep, which i preferred because it folded up smaller and was more comfortable for the twins, even though i had to avoid kicking the middle tire and the spacing of the handles is a bit strange. i am having them walk more, but they are 22 months old (25 pounds each) and love to play "chase " which is causing them to go running through parking lots. it just isn 't a safe situation in the city. i still need one for the twins, and am looking into getting another cheap one that folds up small. wondering what your favorite one is for toddlers.i think the duoglider is a lot bigger and heavier then i am considering. really want something very portable, it is really mostly for taking very small trips, like across parking lots! Maclaren Techno Or Chicco Cortina Stroller?
Hi everyone,i am due this july and am looking for a stroller that will basically last through the time my baby is a toddler (about 4 yrs old). i 've basically narrowed it down to the maclaren techno xt or xlr or the chicco cortina, and am wondering which one is better. i know the maclaren is more expensive, and doesn 't include the car seat (that you can get with the chicco travel system), but from my research i also see the chicco is a lot bulkier than the maclaren. i am cost conscious but at the same time i don 't mind spending a little extra if this would mean i can stick to one stroller for the entire time we would need one - i figure that the cost would eventually be the same, since with other strollers i will probably have to end up buying another one at some point. (fyi, i 'm also looking for a convertible carseat that will last from newborn and eventually turn into a booster seat. i know i 'm probably asking for everything in one, but i figured i 'll try my luck and see if i can find anything!)p.s. this is my first, which is probably why i 'm so determined the find what i am looking for!! Side By Side Stroller Vs Front And Back?
I 'm expected my second child this summer and my daughter will be two this summer. i 'm looking for a two seating stroller but don 't know if a side by side is better than or front and back or vice versa. i like side by side by my husband says it would be two wide for isles at stores and things like that. i think the other would be hard to turn. i 've seen some people with the sit and stand strollers....what do you think? pros/ cons for etiher or both?? Mommies With Umbrella Strollers I Need Opinions!?
So i have this idea and want to see if there is a market for it before i invest time and go broke. would you buy a storage bag for your umbrella stroller? i know many do not have storage so that is why i am thinking it may be a good idea. the catch is, that i crochet so the bags would be crocheted. i can do some custom options like colors and possibly name or a picture but not sure on those skills yet because it depends on how big the bag will be, i am working on one for my stroller right now to see. i can also do dual layers crocheted or line the inside with cloth or vinyl so they are more sturdy or water poof inside. bq: how much would you spend on just a generic one that would look like anyone else 's? how much would you pay if you were to customize it?it would attach on the handles, trying to decide if it will tie on like the one cloth example i have seen, or just slip over the handles. size wise it would be about as wide as the stroller (12 " or so) and maybe about the same in length. so it would be light enough to not flip the stroller over with the kid out unless a brick or something was in it. i am thinking like for wallet, keys, diapers, wipes and some snacks. i have used a reusable bag but it seems like they are just too big/ bulky and get in my way or hit the wheels when it is moving so i have to twist up the handles to hang on the stroller and then taking it off is a pain. hence my idea!i have not seen any that are crocheted, i know there are some that are made out of cloth. i would make it so that the only way the stroller would tip is if you put a brick or something in the bag. i didn 't think of matching the stroller pattern, that may be something i can do depending on how complex the pattern is. like my son 's stroller it toy story so that is not too complex but something with little flowers or plaid would be a bit harder. Does anyone know of a place that sells double travel system strollers? i am having 2 girls and would like to have the car seats connect to the stroller but i can only find singles that are really cute. the one double travel system i found is in a dull blue and comes with one car seat....weird.. Parents, Do You Purposely Buy Large Strollers?
I 'm just wondering... i always seem to run into women whom buy unnessecarily large strollers. do you need all that space for something or do you just want one that big? nine times out of ten the baby is about the size of a teddy bear, yet the stroller could easily fit an adult dog. (Read answers)
